Residents advised of roadworks in Tamboerskloof, Gardens, Oranjezicht, Vredehoek, Green Point, Mouille Point, Three Anchor Bay and Bo-Kaap

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate has started with roadworks in these areas this week and will pause works on 12 December 2025 for the builder's break. The works take place between 07:00 and 17:00 from Monday to Saturday. Read more below:

'We have commenced with this road resurfacing project across various road segments in Tamboerskloof; Gardens; Oranjezicht; Vredehoek; Green Point; Mouille Point; Three Anchor Bay and Bo-Kaap this past week as it was essential to make a start before year end. This way the teams can hit the ground running from 12 January 2026 again to ensure the roadworks are completed as early as possible in the new year. We anticipate the completion date to be 18 February 2026 if all goes according to plan.

'It is our commitment to improving the quality of our road network through maintenance projects such as these that assists us in our mandate to keep Cape Town moving,' said the City's mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

Residents are to note that in Tamboerskloof and Gardens, certain roads will require night work on 20 and 21 January 2026 between 19:15 and 05:00. Residents and business owners can expect some noise during this time, however the City will remind the public of these dates in the new year.
